De Stijl
De stijl means ''the style''. This Dutch movement started in 1917 to 1931. It was founded by Piet Mondrian and Theo van Doesburg. They worked with primary colours, non- colours , only sqauresand rectangles and only vertical and horizontal lines. They belived in the idea of spiritual harmony and order because it was the law of universe. Their work helped the public with purity and path of the truth. They embraced abstract, pared-down aesthetic . They also used geometric forms.
